Randy loved school till it came time for the istep testing. He would cry and not want to go. It was too hard and stressful for him. But I knew once we got rid of the standardized tests he would no longer get a diploma only a certificate of completion. We finally got rid of the state testing and Randy loved going to school again.
This is Randy and the vice principal Mr Madura. Randy scared him everyday in the lunchroom and would tell him all sorts of jokes. They had a very special bond. That was one of the great thrills of his day was messing with Mr Madura.
Randy’s next best thing about school was seeing Alyssa everyday. They had many classes together and became great friends and basically high school sweethearts.
Randy was greeted with a hug when he got his diploma. We’ve known Pat for years and he always treated Randy with respect and pure kindness. I just really like this picture.
I just really like this picture. For Randy to graduate was a great struggle. With all the IEP’s and them wanting Randy to transfer schools. I’m glad everything worked out for the best. He got to graduate with the people he went to kindergarten with. It was such a great day. A very big milestone in Randy’s life.
