What many people may not know about Randy is that he was a true music lover. Whether it was just listening to different genres or performing them at karaoke, Randy could literally listen to anything from Disney songs to Ozzy. In fact, when he and I would go places together in my car, I turn on his playlist and tell him he had to sing for me lol. And he would! Sometimes we’d even sing together (horribly lol).
Some handpicked songs on Randy’s playlist are as follows:
“BYOB” by System of a Down, “Crazy Train” by Ozzy, “Hungry Like the Wolf” by Duran Duran, “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from the Toy Story movie, “Final Countdown” by Europe (which he and I used to butcher lol), “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke, “Round and Round” by Ratt, and the list goes on and on…
He also liked songs that are hard to hear now, such as “Lost in the Woods” from the Disney movie Frozen 2 (he performed this at one of the last karaokes he attended), and “A Million Dreams” for the movie The Greatest Showman.
As far as singing goes, I wouldn’t call Randy a good singer necessarily, but he would definitely give it his all when he did sing lol. When it came to karaoke, Randy was fearless!
